A ‘pro-incumbency’ wave under Modi was generated in India, says Rajdeep Roy

May 24: This is a historic victory of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The party was able to get 52.5 percent vote and win the prestigious Silchar seat. These were the words uttered by Dr. Rajdeep Roy, who won the Silchar Lok Sabha seat by defeating the sitting Congress MP Sushmita Dev by a margin of 81,596 votes. Dr. Roy was addressing newsmen in a press conference organised at the party office on Friday. This was his 1st press meet after winning the election.

“A clear line of pro-Modi and pro-incumbency wave was noticed this time during the election in India. During the rule of the Congress, people have only heard of the term ‘anti-incumbency’. However, during the regime of Narendra Modi, we have coined a new term and that is ‘pro-incumbency.’ The party which has ruled the country for the last 5 years was able to satisfy the wishes and aspirations of the people of this nation and this has generated the pro-incumbency factor,” said Dr. Rajdeep Roy.

Dr. Roy further went on to thank all his party leaders, party workers, supporters, sympathisers and well-wishers who have contributed in their own way to snatch away the Silchar seat from the hands of the Congress. He even thanked the Rashtriya Sayang Sevak Sangh (RSS) and its affiliates for their active role in his victory.
