159 +ve cases on Friday in Cachar, 21 patients critical at SMCH
2 more deaths at SMCH in last 24 hours
August 28: On Friday, 159 new cases were reported from across Cachar district till 7 PM. Out of 159 positive cases, 142 of them were found positive in Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), whereas 17 were detected positive in four slots of RT-PCR Test. During the day, 1207 rapid tests were done in Cachar. However, there are chances that the numbers might rise at night. This was informed by Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert.
At present, 21 patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) are in critical condition, out of which, 16 of them are admitted in ICU whereas, 4 of them are in COVID ward. Till now, 83 patients at SMCH has received plasma. In the last 24 hours, 2 persons have died at SMCH. This was disclosed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vive Principal of SMCH on Friday.
In the 1st slot of RT-PCR Test results on Friday, 06 persons were detected as COVID-19 positive in Cachar district. Out of them, 2 are patients at Cachar Cancer Hospital & Research Centre (CCHRC), Meherpur. In the same slot, another person from Hailakandi who is now admitted at CCHRC was also found positive. Further, 3 more persons from Masimpur Military Station also tested positive during the day. Out of the 3, one of them is a ILI patient while 2 of them came in direct contact with high risk lab confirmed case. Apart from them, a 83-year-old man from Surendra Dhar Lane in Ambicapatty was also found positive. He was detected with ILI symptoms.
In the 2nd slot of RT-PCR Test Results, 8 more persons were found positive. A 75-year-old male from Saidpur Part-3 was detected positive with fever. Three more persons with Influenza Like Illness (ILI) symptoms were tested positive during the day. They are a 54-year-old male from Azad Hind Road West, a 29-year-old male from Hospital Road and a 49-year-old female from BSF Masimpur. In this slot, 4 more persons were found positive whose source of getting infected was not mentioned in the SRF. They are a 48-year-old male from Radhamadhab Road, 49-year-old male from Veterinary Bazar Lane, 61-year-old female from JBL Residency, College Road and a 29-year-old male from Uttar Krishnapur Part-III.
In the 3rd slot of RT-PCR Test results on Friday, 02 persons were tested positive. Both of them are from Sreema Road, Silchar. They are a 22 years old male and a 62 years old male from the same family. Both of them exhibited ILI symptoms.
In the 4th slot of RT-PCR Test Results, only 1 person was tested positive, who is a 53-year-old male from Mahanambrata Sarani at Rangirkhari. His source of contamination was not mentioned in the SRF.
