SEBA appeals not to convene ‘bandh’ during HSLC exam

January 18: Assam during the last one month has witnessed a number of bandh/strike/wheel jam/shutdown convened by political parties as well as various organisations. It is in this backdrop that the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) has appealed to the political parties and other organizations not to call for shutdown during the forthcoming High School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLC) and the Higher Secondary (HS) final examination. The HSLC examination will start from February 14 while the HS examination will start from February 12.

During an interaction with newsmen, Nayan Jyoti Sarma, Controller of Examination, SEBA said, ” We are worried keeping in view the prevailing situation in the state. No bandh should be called during the examinations.” He expressed the view that bandh during the examination disrupts the entire schedule which causes difficulties both for the students as well as the Board/Council.
