15 tests Covid +ve in Hailakandi on Saturday, 52 discharged, 2 deaths registered
The district has altogether 607 active COVID-19 cases
June 19: Hailakandi registered only 15 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday. Of the 15 positive cases detected on Saturday, 15 have been found positive under Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) but none were found positive in RT-PCR test. The district has altogether 607 active COVID-19 cases. During the day, 2,046 RAT tests and 445 RT-PCR tests were done. 52 patients were discharged during the day. With this, the district tally of Covid cases has now reached 7,353. As of now, a total of 3,332 patients were discharged. It needs mention here that 46 persons were found positive in Hailakandi on Friday.
As of now, in the 62,206 persons have received the 1st dose of the vaccine (irrespective of age), whereas, 18,014 have been administered the 2nd dose in Hailakandi district.
Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 18 June to 5 PM on 19 June) witnessed demise of 03 Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. Out of the 03 deceased, 02 are from Hailakandi and 01 is from Karimganj. No fatalities were reported from Cachar at SMCH on Saturday. The 02 deceased from Hailakandi were identified as:
- Rahima Begum Barbhuiya (47) from Hailakandi district took admission in SMCH on 18 June. She breathed his last at 11.30 AM on 19 June.
- Sitangshu Nath (49) also from Hailakandi got admitted at SMCH on 17 June. He expired at 2 PM on 19 June.
