148 tests Covid +ve in Hailakandi on Friday, 10 discharged, 2 deaths registered
The district has altogether 1,091 active COVID-19 cases
May 28: Hailakandi registered 148 new COVID-19 cases on Friday. Of the 148 positive cases detected on Friday, 132 have been found positive under Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and 16 found positive in RT-PCR test. The district has altogether 1,091 active COVID-19 cases. During the day, 1,834 RAT tests and 333 RT-PCR tests were done. 10 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that 120 persons were found positive in Hailakandi on Thursday. With this, the district tally of Covid cases has now reached 5,874.
As of now, in the 52,877 persons have received the 1st dose of the vaccine (irrespective of age), whereas, 16,147 have been administered the 2nd dose in Hailakandi district.
Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 27 May to 5 PM on 28 May) witnessed demise of 10 more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board as per the protocol. Out of the 10 deceased, 05 are from Cachar district, 03 from Karimganj & 02 from Hailakandi. The 02 deceased from Hailakandi district were identified as:
- Lila Nath (67) from Lala in Hailakandi district was admitted at SMCH on 25 May. She expired at 9.50 AM on 28 May.
- Surajit Singha (39) also from Lala in Hailakandi district took admitted at SMCH on 25 May. He passed away at 1.30 PM on 28 May.
