13 new +ve cases in Cachar including a doctor & teacher of Ramanuj Collegeনতুন ১৩-র পজিটিভ তালিকায় রামানুজের শিক্ষিকা, কালাইনের ডাক্তার
July 11: A total of 13 persons were tested positive on Saturday in Cachar district as per the 1st & 2nd slot of swab results received from SMCH. This was informed by District Media Expert Suman Choudhury. Seven out of the eleven are army jawans while four of them are civilians.
The six civilians who were tested COVID-19 positive are: Dr. S. Bhowmik (48) of Kalain CHC in Cachar. He was in home quarantine. He has been tested under Assam Targeted Surveillance Program (ATSP). His swab sample was collected on 7 July and the reports were published on 11 July. Another staff of Kalain CHC, Smriti Rekha Paul (59) who was also under home quarantine tested positive on Saturday. Her swab sample was also collected under ATSP. Both of them are asymptomatic.
A teacher of Ramanuj Gupta College in Silchar, Tomosree Deb (25) also tested positive. Her swab sample was collected on 8 July. She came in direct contact with a high risk lab confirmed case. She is asymptomatic. It needs mention here that earlier during the week Rudra Narayan Gupta, Director of Ramanuj Gupta Memorial Trust also tested positive. The 4th person who was infected with coronavirus on Saturday is Pratik Tarafdar (24) from Nutanpatty, Silchar who was put under quarantine at Ellora Hotel. He travelled by air from Bangalore to Silchar. He too is asymptomatic.
Another person, Shila Kirtania (29) also tested positive on Saturday. She is from Kalibari Char area, Dhakaya Colony, Silchar and came in contact with a lab confirmed case. Her swab sample was collected on 9 July. A baby, who too tested positive on Saturday is Monish Singha (2 months old) from Rajargaon in Cachar who came in contact with a lab confirmed case. Both of them are asymptomatic.
The rest seven positive cases detected on Saturday are all from quarantine facility of Masimpur Army Camp. They are Osman Goni(28), Nomal Nath (32), AS Rawat (25), Amandeep Singh (30), Hansraj Singh (39), Rakesh Negi (39) and Mitrasen Yadav (24). All of them are undergoing treatment at Masimpur Army Hospital.
Out of the 6 civilians, 4 of them have been brought to SM Dev Civil Hospital for treatment. Confirming this, District Media Expert Suman Choudhury said that the numbers may rise on Saturday as one or two more lists may come. He also said that on Friday, COVID patients were admitted at Palonghat Model Hospital. Some more hospitals were also made ready to accommodate more COVID patients, if required.
