122 persons including 11 air passengers test Covid-19 +ve in Cachar till 7 PM on Monday

May 3: A total of 122 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 7 PM on Monday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 112 persons were found positive in Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT), whereas 11 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert on Monday evening. Further, during the day, 416 air passengers arrived at Silchar Airport, who were tested at Mahatma Gandhi Model Hospital, Tikal, out of which 11 of them were found positive.

It needs mention here that on Monday, 148 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

Three more deaths were registered at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Monday. Out of the three, one of them is from Cachar, while the rest two are from Karimganj district. This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Monday. The three deceased are: Pinak Pani Chakraborty (77), Mrinal Kanti Dey (58) and Debobala Sinha (57).
