12-day long Silchar Book Fair to begin on 16 December

December 15: It’s good news for the book lovers of Barak valley in general and Silchar in particular. The 27th Silchar Book Fair will be inaugurated on 16 December (Sunday) at 3 PM at Bipin Chandra Pal ground, Silchar. The 12-day long Book Fair will be inaugurated by Prof. Dilip Chandra Nath, Vice Chancellor of Assam University, Silchar.

Emphasis was given on the aspect of releasing new books every evening during the Fair. It was informed that in this regard, the new committee formed for the purpose of conducting the fair will collaborate with the publishing houses and the authors. It was also decided that the 27^th Book Fair will definitely offer the readers with a wide choice of publishers from across the country and beyond.

Veteran poet-journalist Atin Das and Biplob Paul Choudhury, the President and Secretary of the Book fair Committee respectively has appealed to the book lovers of the valley to be present in the Book Fair. This was informed by Gautam Taluqdar, PRO of the Silchar Book Fair Committee. The Fair will come to an end on 28 December, 2018.
