111 tests Covid +ve in Karimganj on Tuesday, 132 discharged & 2 deaths registered
The district has currently 736 active COVID-19 cases
May 25: Karimganj registered 111 fresh COVID-19 cases on Tuesday. Of the 111 active cases detected on Tuesday, 102 have been found positive under Rapid Antigen Test and 09 under RT-PCR. The district has currently 736 active COVID-19 cases, while 132 patients have been discharged from hospitals and home isolation on Tuesday. 2,827 swab samples were collected during the day. It needs mention here that 152 positive cases were detected in Karimganj on Monday.
Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours witnessed demise of 07 more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board as per the protocol. Out of the 07 deceased, 04 are from Cachar district, 02 from Karimganj & 01 from Hailakandi.
The deceased from Karimganj in the last 24 hours are:
- Surajit Deb (70) from Patharkandi in Karimganj district was admitted at SMCH on 24 May. He too died on the same evening (24 May).
- Rajarshi Bhattacharjee (35) from Latu in Karimganj district took admission at SMCH on 25 May. He breathed his last at 10.20 AM on the same day (25 May).
