11 more +ve in Cachar on Wednesday, day’s total 24

July 8: On Wednesday, 13 persons were tested positive as per the swab reports issued by Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) in the 1st lot. In the 3rd slot, 3 more persons were marked as positive. They include, former MP of Silchar, Sushmita Dev (47) of Kalimohan Road, Tarapur, Silchar. She is asymptomatic. As per sources, Sushmita Dev came in contact with positive patient, Rudra Narayan Gupta, MD of Green Heals Hospital.

Apart from Sushmita Dev, in the 2nd list there were names of two more positive patients. Both of them are from 68th Batallion, SSB, D-COV, Katigorah, Cachar. They too were asymptomatic.

Again, in the 4th slot, 8 more cases were reported. Out of them, 6 are again from 68th Batallion, SSB, D-COV, Katigorah, Cachar. They are Kuldeep Chand (55), Gouranga Roy (37), Ramesh Singh (27), Sandeep Kumar (30), Rohit Kumar (30) and Shiv Poojan (24). Apart from them, 65-year-old Debendra Sinha of Bekirpar Pt-V of Cachar also tested positive. His source of being infected has been written as ‘Contact of Lab.’ The last name in this list is of Reba Rani Nath (47) from Sundari Part-II, Cachar. She was tested positive as a result of contact tracing. All 8 of them are asymptomatic.
