Feb. 24: The Directorate of Employment and Craftsman Training, Assam in collaboration with National Career Service, Silchar organised Job Mela 2021 at I.T.I Srikona to facilitate placement opportunities for I.T.I pass out of this area on Saturday. Deputy commissioner, Cachar, Keerthi Jalli graced the occasion as the chief guest. MLA Borkhola Kishore Nath was present on the occasion as guest of honour along with other dignitaries like Babul Hore, Chairman IMC of ITI for women Silchar and Deputy General Manager of power grid corporation Srikona, Supriya Paul.
Ten different employers participated in the job mela and 437 ITI qualified job-seekers had registered themselves throughout the day. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar, Keerthi Jalli said, ” Established in 1958, ITI Srikona has provided training and employment opportunities to a large number of people and its trainees are working in various organisations across the country”.
Jalli appealed to the youths to become more involved in ITI training and be employed in the service of the country. She congratulated the job seekers for participating in the job fair and the recruiters from different parts of Assam for their participation.
Assistant Director of Employment, District Employment Exchange, Silchar, Manoj Kanu and Principal ITI Srikona A K Dey have also expressed their gratitude to all the employers and job seekers participated to make it a grand success.
