10 detected Covid +ve till 6 PM in Cachar on Friday, 24 discharged

Aug 20:  A total of 10 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Friday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 2,613 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 10 persons were found positive, whereas till the filing of this report, the results of RT-PCR test was not made available. It needs mention here that 19 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Thursday.

Also, during the day, 24 patients got cured and were subsequently discharged. At present, there are 125 active cases in the district. Further, 3,495 persons were vaccinated in Cachar. With this, a total of 6,50,974 persons were administered Covid vaccine in the district.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 19 August to 5 PM on 20 August) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Friday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 20 August, there were 30 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 15 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 15 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 02 patients were put under ventilator support and 22 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 07 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 06 of them were discharged.
