1 detected Covid +ve till 5 PM in Cachar on Wednesday, 1 death at SMCH
Oct. 6: A total of 01 new case of COVID-19 was reported till 5 PM on Wednesday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 1,197 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 01 person was found positive, whereas till the filing of this report, RT-PCR test results were not made available. It needs mention here that 06 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Tuesday.
The Covid-19 situation in Cachar is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 5 October to 5 PM on 6 October) witnessed the death of 01 more Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Wednesday evening. The deceased was identified as:
- Boyaz Uddin Barbhuiya (78) from Malugram in Silchar was admitted at SMCH on 4 October. The patient, however, breathed his last at 8.55 AM on 6 October.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 6 October, there were 13 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 03 patients were put under ventilator support, and 05 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 01 Covid positive patient was admitted at SMCH and 05 of them was discharged.
