08 tests +ve in Cachar on Friday, 1 more dies at SMCH
Active cases 135 in Cachar
Dec. 18: On Friday, a total of 08 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1061 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 08 persons were found positive, whereas only none were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Friday night.
With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 11,218. Further, a total of 11,045 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 39 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 135 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 08 persons were found positive in Cachar on Thursday.
In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Friday said that in the last 24 hours, Throat swab of another 289 persons were collected. 364 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which, 04 persons tested positive. Further, 944 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, 01 was found positive.
Apart from this, 01 new patient of COVID-19 was admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and 02 were discharged. At present, there are 14 active patients at SMCH, out of which 02 of them are in critical stage. Those in critical condition are Usha Dutta and Bijoy Kr. Jain. A total of 08 patients are admitted in ICU, whereas 02 of them are put under oxygen support and 02 kept in ventilator support.
Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, 01 patient died due to COVID-19 at SMCH. The deceased was identified as Anjali Sengupta (78) of Cachar.
