Wednesday starts with 140 new cases in Assam, total now 8547

July 1: Another 140 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from across Assam on Wednesday noon. Out of the 140 new cases, 122 of them are from Guwahati city alone. With this, the state tally has gone upto 8547, out of which, 2885 are active cases. Sharing this information, State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “It is my humble plea to all to strictly follow lockdown guidelines to be able to flatten the curve. No need to panic, however.” It needs mention here that on Tuesday alone 613 new positive cases were reported from across Assam.
