12 hours Dima Hasao bandh called on 14 Dec

Dec. 13: In demand of bifurcation of Dima Hasao into two parts and forming a new district for the non-Dimasas, the Indegenous Students’ Forum has given a call for 12 hours Dima Hasao bandh on 14 December.

During the 12 hours bandh (5 AM to 5 PM), Railway services has been kept outside its purview. Earlier, too bandh was convened on the similar issue in the district. President of the Indigenous Students’ Forum, Lima Keivum said, “Enough assurances were given in this matter. It’s high time now. We won’t stop until a notification is issued in this connection.” In a strong note, the Forum stated that if their demand is not fulfilled, then they would soon launch an indefinite movement.
