NRC: Online publication of list for all members of family from 14 September

September 10: In an important announcement issued in public interest by the State Coordinator of NRC Assam, it was stated, “The results for the complete family will be available for display online from 14 September, 2019. This display will be available only online.”

In the said announcement, it was stated by the State Coordinator that in the backdrop of the Final NRC published on 31 August, 2019 which consisted supplementary lists, queries are being received from the public about publication of results of all members of a family irrespective of their involvement in the Claims and Objections process. It is in this backdrop that the State Coordinator of NRC has decided to display the list of the entire family from 14 September, 2019.

It was further stated in the same announcement that queries are also received by the State NRC authority from the public about issue of certified copies of rejection from Final NRC. In this connection, it was informed that, “The public are aware that the hearings have been held at various venues away from their designated NSKs. The process of collection of the orders passed by the NRC officers is being carried out to enable early availability of the same to the public to file appeals.” It was also announced that the time frame for this process will be announced soon.

The final NRC list of Assam’s National Register of Citizens (NRC) was published on 31 August, 2019. Out of a total number of 3,30,27,661 applicants, the names of 3,11,21,004 were included in the final NRC. That means a total of 19,06,657 persons were excluded from the NRC.
