Farewell accorded to DDIPR Barak Valley

Dec. 31: A farewell meeting was organised at the Regional Office of Information and Public Relations, Barak Valley Zone, Silchar on Thursday, where Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations, Barak Valley Zone, Indrani Goswami was accorded an emotional farewell by the staff of DDIPR Office, Silchar in a befitting manner. It is pertinent to mention here that Goswami has taken voluntary retirement from service after serving in the department for 28 years.

Staff artist of DDIPR office, Jamuna Sinha, who also retired from the department on the same day was given farewell by the staff on the occasion. At the outset, both DDIPR Goswami and staff artist Sinha were greeted with “uttorio” and flower bouquets while Circle Officer, Silchar Sadar, Dhrubajyoti Pathak took over the charge as in-charge DDIPR of Barak Valley region.

Going down the memory lane, Goswami said, “I feel nostalgic remembering my school days at Holy Cross, Silchar where I studied and what a coincidence that today I have taken voluntary retirement from service at Silchar where I started my initial studies. I feel privileged to serve this department for long 28 years. I took charge as Deputy Director of Barak Valley region on 2nd July 2018. Since then I received full cooperation from the staff while discharging my duties and I personally thank all the staff of this office for their sincere efforts. I hope in the coming days, the staff of this office will continue to perform their duties as they served during my tenure.”

In-charge DDIPR, Dhrubojyoti Pathak wished Goswami sound health post retirement and hoped that he would receive similar cooperation from the staff of this office in the days ahead. Later in the afternoon, a similar farewell meeting was organised at the Press Club premises where the outgoing DDIPR received felicitations from Press Club of Silchar, Barak Kantha, Yubo Darpan, while Human Rights’ Association and North East India also arranged felicitation programme at the Ellora Heritage Hall in the honour of Goswami on Wednesday.
