Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal to consult students, parents before fixing exam dates

Nov. 28: Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank would go live to interact with students on 3 December at 12 noon. The Minister would discuss upcoming competitive exams including JEE 2021, NEET 2021, and various board exams at the webinar next week.

Taking to his tweeter handle, the Education Minister wrote, ““Dear students, I understand that 2020 hasn’t been the best year for you & you have been worried about your future. I will be meeting you live on Dec 3 to discuss the upcoming competitive & board #exams. Share your concerns/ suggestions with me using   #EducationMinisterGoesLive.”

With the Covid-19 pandemic continuing, the education ministry thinks that the examination calendar for 2021 will need to be tweaked; students and their parents are the most important stakeholders in the process. “A campaign will be launched by the Ministry of Education to seek views from students, parents and teachers on how and when to conduct the exams next year”, the Education Minister tweeted after a high-level review meeting.

Among the key exams that have to be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) are the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) for admission to engineering schools, Class X and XII exams and the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for students aspiring to study medicine or dental science.
