A tribute to my beloved Bhaskar Sir, writes Abhijeet Gotani

August 30: Bhaskar Bijoy Gupta (50), a majestic artist, a multi faceted person, a genuine human being lost his life battling the novel coronavirus in Silchar on 30 August. His death was mourned by a host of his students for whom their beloved Bhaskar Sir will be alive forever in their heart of hearts. One of this students, Abhijeet Gotani ,a gifted artist and cricketer pays tribute to his beloved ‘Bhaskar Sir’ who played a crucial journey in his artistic journey.

 “The curve of my pencil,
The flow of my hand,
He was the legend
Who made me your favourite
“My Beloved Bhaskar Sir”

His teaching will always inspire me as I never saw him getting irritated while teaching. He always enjoyed his teaching and pushed his students forward in life as creative individuals. Even though he used to be extremely busy, he was always ready to help whenever we required his guidance. I am sure, even he doesn’t know how many lives he has inspired in his life time. The magnitude of vacuum his death has created in the lives of his students is simply unfathomable. He will be missed endlessly….
