Health Minister oversee as all 15 COVID-19 patients brought to MMCH Guwahati
May 13: A total of 15 persons were tested COVID-19 positive in kamrup Metro district of Assam on Wednesday night. All of them are related to a 50-year old patient from Guwahati’s Fancy Bazaar, who tested positive recently. After that person was tested positive, the officials started contact searching and finally 10 persons who came in his direct contact and another 19 indirect contacts were quarantined. Those 15 whose reports came positive on Wednesday were all in quarantine and so there was no reason to panic. This was informed by State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The minister went in person on Wednesday night to monitor the transfer of these 15 positive persons to hospitals. All of them were brought to Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH), Guwahati. Sharing this information, Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “We went to Rajkamal Hotel, Aloo Godam in Fancy Bazaar to ensure safe transit of 11 new #COVID19 patients. Four more patients were evacuated from other parts of the city. They have all been brought to MMCH, where they shall undergo treatment and remain in quarantine.”
