8 more COVID-19 positive cases in Assam, takes state’s tally to 13 : Himanta

April 1: Eight more new positive cases were detected in Assam. In a recent tweet, health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “8 more #COVID19 positive cases in Assam, taking the total to 13. All eight new cases are of people who also participated in #TablighiJamaat congregation at #NizamuddinMarkaz.” These, 8 cases were learnt to have been tested in Jorhat Medical College. 13 cases in 24 hours has created a situation of panic. 

It needs mention here that these eight persons too attended Nizamuddin Markaj. Earlier during the day, four persons were tested COVID-19 positive. On Tuesday, one person was detected positive at Silchar Medical college & Hospital. It seems more and more positive cases will emerge due to the Nizamuddin Markaj connection in the state. This means within a span of two days, the total state tally went to 13 and all this is due to being present by all in the “hot bed of coronavirus”, that is, Nizamuddin.

Sources revealed that more reports are awaited. The positive cases are expected to rise by tomorrow morning. The state government asked all to be extra cautious and stay inside total house confinement. Sources revealed that as many as 193 persons who went to Nizamuddin are still hiding, which may invite real trouble for the state. Manhunt by the government is going on in full swing. The 8 news cases were tested at Jorhat Medical College.
