4 more tests positive in Cachar, all to be taken at SMCH

May 28: At 2.50 PM on Thursday, 11 corona positive patients were detected from the 3 districts of Barak Valley, who were in quarantine centres. Within 4 hours time, another 4 patients from Cachar were found to be positive. In his Facebook post, Silchar MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy stated that the total tally of active patients of Barak Valley has gone upto 77. All of them are undergoing treatment at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). As per sources, all 4 persons detected from Cachar have a travel history. Three of them came from Gujarat, while 1 returned from Mumbai.

33 years Rajib Uddin from Goragram in Cachar came from Mumbai. While the Gujarat returnees are Samsur Alam Mazumder (30) of Gonirgram (Cachar), Azaruddin Barbhuiya (18) of Buribari (Cachar) and Zakeer Hussain Barbhuiya (48) years from Gosaipur II (Cachar). They were all in quarantine centres. Process is on to take them to the COVID-19 ward at SMCH.
