Zubeen Garg to join ULFA(I) next year!

১৮ নভেম্বর : যুব প্রজন্মের হার্টথ্রব স্বনামধন্য কণ্ঠশিল্পী জুবিন গার্গ জঙ্গি সংগঠন আলফা স্বাধীন গোষ্ঠীতে যোগদানের ইচ্ছে প্রকাশ করলেন। নিজের জন্মদিনের এক অনুষ্ঠানে সংবাদ মাধ্যমের মুখোমুখি হয়ে এই কণ্ঠশিল্পী বললেন যে, আগামী বছর অর্থাৎ ২০১৯-এ তিনি আলফাতে যোগদান করতে ইচ্ছুক। তিনি তাদের সঙ্গে অন্তত এক বছর থাকার ইচ্ছে প্রকাশ করেছেন। কিন্তু একই সময়ে তিনি এও বলেছেন, আলফা ক্যাডারদের সঙ্গে নিয়েই তিনি ফের জীবনের মূলস্রোতে ফিরে আসতে চান।

জুবিন গার্গ এ দিন নিজের মন্তব্য তুলে ধরে বলেছেন, জঙ্গিপনাই সব সমস্যার সমাধান নয়। তিনি আরও বলেন, পরেশ বরুয়ার সঙ্গে তার বন্ধুত্বপূর্ণ সম্পর্ক রয়েছে এবং তার পরিবারের সঙ্গেও জঙ্গি নেতার বিশেষ যোগাযোগ রয়েছে। তার সঙ্গে টেলিফোনে যোগাযোগের কথাও বলেছেন জুবিন। তাঁর কথায়, তিনি খুব খুশি হবেন যদি পরেশ বরুয়া অস্ত্র তুলে দিয়ে ঘরে ফিরে আসেন। জুবিন বলেন, ‘পরেশ বরুয়ার ক্রমশ বয়স হচ্ছে। আমি চাই তিনি পুনরায় ঘরে ফিরে আসুন।’

জুবিন এ দিন আশা ব্যক্ত করে বলেছেন, আলফার কমান্ডার-ইন-চিফ পরেশ বরুয়ার অস্ত্র সমর্পণ করে সরকারের সঙ্গে শান্তি আলোচনায় বসা উচিত। তিনি আরও বলেন, প্রতিটি মানুষেরই কোনও সন্ত্রাসের পথকে আমল দেওয়া উচিত নয়, যাতে সমাজে শান্তি এবং ভ্রাতৃত্ববোধ বজায় থাকে। কিন্তু হঠাৎ করে শিক্ষিত যুবকদের জঙ্গি সংগঠনের সঙ্গে যুক্ত হওয়ার যে জিগির উঠেছে তাতে গায়ক বিস্ময় প্রকাশ করেন।

এখানে উল্লেখ করা যেতে পারে যে, কিছুদিন আগে রঙালি বিহুর অনুষ্ঠানে হিন্দি গান গাওয়ায় জুবিন গার্গের সমালোচনা করেছিল আলফা।

November 18: In a sensational development, renowned singer Zubeen Garg has expressed the desire to join the militant outfit United Liberation Front of Assam, Independent (ULFA-I). While speaking to the media on the occasion of his birthday, Zubeen Garg said that he desires to join the outfit in 2019. He further wished to stay with them atleast for a year. But at the same time he desired to come back along with all the cadres to the mainstream.

Zubeen Garg upholded the view that militancy is not the solution of all problems. He further stated that, “Paresh Baruah is a very close friend of mine and has good terms with my family. We often converse with him over the phone. Hence, I will be very happy if he gives up arms and come back home.” He added that, “Paresh Baruah da  has grown old. I want him to come back home.”

Zubeen further expressed the hope that Paresh Baruah, Commander-in-Chief of ULFA(I) should give up arms and sit for peace talks with the government. He said that people should refrain from any violent means and maintain peace and harmony in the society.But at the same time Zubeen expressed surprise at the growing trend of educated youth inclined towards joining the rebel outfit.

It needs mention here that ULFA(I) has in the recent past criticised Zubeen Garg for singing Hindi songs during the Rongali Bihu programmes.
