Young talents from Silchar come up with short film ‘Silchar-a Utsab’ (শিলচরে উৎসব)
October 7: A few young talents of Silchar came up with a unique project, short film, titled Silchar-a Utsab (শিলচরে উৎসব). The film depicts the home coming of Silcharites during Durga Puja residing outside the valley. The short film was released on the occasion of Durga Puja, the biggest carnival of the Bengalis. Subhajit Entertainments, the maker of the film tried to justify Silchar as the ‘City of Love’ for which all its inhabitants rush to their homes during Puja wherever they reside. The short film is powered by Take A Break.
The film is all about two prime characters, out of which one is a beggar and the other is a high class girl with big dreams in her eyes. The role of the beggar was played by youth talent Sanvi Paul of Silchar who is really an inspiration for 20’s kid. The role of the high class girl was played by a popular face of Silchar, Neha Chakraborty.
Apart from them, two other characters made the film most vibrant. They are theatre artists Arkajyoti Bhattacharjee & Bishal Acharjee. One of them played the role of a neighborhood boy and the other played the role of Shibu Da, a resident of West Bengal.
Further, the Director of the short film Subhajit Das, who is also its story writer played a prominent role of the brother of high class girl who loves to dream big. His was a prominent role in the film. Bhaskar Ghosh and Shibam Das were the men behind the camera while the Video Editor of the film was Swagatam Roy
