Woman kicked out of a shop in Assam for wearing jeans!

Oct. 31: “Why did you wear Jeans and why not burqa?” This was the question raised by a shopkeeper identified as Nurul Amin when a 22-year-old Muslim girl went to his shop to purchase earphones. Nurul owns an electronic shop at Biswanath Chariali in Assam. The girl went to his store wearing a jeans pant which invited the irk of Nurul. She alleged that the owner of the shop Nurul Amin just kicked her out of his store.

So what was her crime? Nurul insisted that she should wear burqa and not jeans when she comes out of the house. Local people alleged that Nurul has a record of commenting of girl’s outfit and insulting them if they don’t wear burqa. On getting information of the incident of misbehaviour, the girl’s father went to the shop of Nurul Amin. But Nurul’s son Rafikul Islam allegedly manhandled the girl’s father.

The girl’s father later on lodged a police complaint at Biswanath police station. On the basis of the complaint, Nurul and his son Rafikul were detained by the police.
