With 99 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 352 on 15 May

May 15: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Saturday at 11 PM. As per the latest data, 99 more persons were detected as coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 352 persons were found positive in the district on 15 May. Earlier, at 5.00 PM, it was informed that 253 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 1,350. It needs mention here that the total number of positive cases detected on Friday was 180.

As per the updated data, a total of 2,402 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 253 persons were found positive, whereas 99 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert on Saturday night. With this, the total number of Covid cases in 2021 reached 4,103 in 2021, whereas during the year, 2,726 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed informed that out of the 1,350 active patients:

• 224 of them are admitted at SMCH
• 06 in MH
• 15 at SMDCH
• 31 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
• 36 at CRPF Doyapur
• 23 at Gracewell Nursing Home
• 14 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
• 19 at Valley Hospital
• 982 patients are in home isolation.

Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours witnessed demise of 05 more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board as per the protocol. Out of the 05 deceased at SMCH, 04 of them are from Cachar district, while 01 of them is from Karimganj district.

The 05 deceased were identified as: Rathi Dhar Nandi (55) from Mona Village in Karimganj, Dipak Shill (34) from Durganagar Part V in Cachar, Nilmoni Singh (75) from Kabuganj in Cachar, Ajit Kumar Modak (82) from Rangirkhari in Silchar and Utpal Banerjee (65) from Silchar.
