With 9 more Covid +ve case, day’s total in Cachar rises to 16 on 23 October

Active cases 62 in Cachar, 11 discharged on Saturday

Oct. 24: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Saturday at night. As per the latest data, 09 more persons were detected as Coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 16 persons were found positive in the district on 23 October. Earlier, at 5 PM, it was informed that 07 persons were found positive. Also, 11 patients were discharged during the day. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has gone down to 62. This was informed by District Media Expert on Saturday night. It needs mention here that on Friday, 10 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 2,160 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 07 persons were found positive, whereas 09 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 20,223 whereas during this phase, 19,945 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 62 active patients:

17 of them are admitted at SMCH
01 at MH
06 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
00 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
38 patients are in home isolation.

The Covid-19 situation in Cachar is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 22 October to 5 PM on 23 October) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Saturday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 23 October, there were 17 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 02 patients were put under ventilator support, and 07 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 03 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 03 of them were discharged.
