With 8 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 26 on 1 August
Active cases 241 in Cachar; 33 discharged on Sunday
Aug 1: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Sunday at 10.15 PM. As per the latest data, 08 more persons were detected as Coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 26 persons were found positive in the district on 1 August. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 18 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has come down to 241. This was informed by District Media Expert on Sunday night. Also, 33 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Saturday, 26 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.
As per the updated data, a total of 5,335 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 17 persons were found positive, whereas 09 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 19,101 whereas during this phase, 18,676 patients were discharged.
Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 241 active patients:

09 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
03 at CRPF Doyapur
00 at Gracewell Nursing Home
09 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
00 at Valley Hospital
00 at South City Hospital
02 at Chibitabichia Model Hospital
02 at Jivan Jyoti Hospital
27 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
07 Palonghat Model Hospital
85 patients are in home isolation.
The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 31 July to 5 PM on 1 August) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Sunday evening.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 1 August, there were 61 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 31 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 30 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 05 patients were put under ventilator support and 42 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 09 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 06 of them were discharged.
