With 79 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 302 on 23 May, 8 deaths at SMCH
Active cases 2,444 in Cachar; 199 patients discharged on Sunday
May 23: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Sunday at 11.30 PM. As per the latest data, 79 more persons were detected as coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 302 persons were found positive in the district on 23 May. Earlier, at 7 PM, it was informed that 223 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 2,444. Also, 199 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that the total number of positive cases detected on Saturday was 630.
As per the updated data, a total of 2,089 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 223 persons were found positive, whereas 79 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert on Sunday night. With this, the total number of Covid cases in 2021 reached 6,854 in 2021, whereas during the year, 4,357 patients were discharged.
Apart from this, Suman Choudhury informed that out of the 2,444 active patients:
- 280 of them are admitted at SMCH
- 11 at MH
- 33 at SMDCH
- 42 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
- 20 at CRPF Doyapur
- 19 at Gracewell Nursing Home
- 15 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
- 25 at Valley Hospital
- 20 at South City Hospital
- 02 at Jivan Jyoti Hospital
- 23 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
- 1,954 patients are in home isolation.
Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours witnessed demise of 08 more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board as per the protocol. Out of the 08 deceased, 06 are from Cachar district, 01 each from Hailakandi and Karimganj.
The deceased were identified as: Mintu Deb (60) from Tarapur (2md Gate), Silchar, Sarifa Khanan Barbhuiya (65) from Dubag in Cachar district, Nirod Roy (65) from Harishnagar in Hailakandi district, Pradip Mura (45) from Kumba in Cachar, Priti Deb (52) from Nivea in Karimganj district, Mahendra Singh (56) from Tarapur, Silchar, Mangal Das (63) from Tarapur, Silchar and Mukul Mandol (57) from Mazumder Lane, Rongpur, Silchar.
