With 65 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 486 on 27 May, 8 deaths at SMCH

Active cases 2,755 in Cachar; 291 patients discharged on Thursday

May 27: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Thursday at 11.55 PM. As per the latest data, 65 more persons were detected as coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 486 persons were found positive in the district on 27 May. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 421 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 2,755. Also, 291 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that the total number of positive cases detected on Wednesday was 536.

As per the updated data, a total of 8,046 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 415 persons were found positive, whereas 71 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert on Thursday night. With this, the total number of Covid cases in 2021 reached 8,395 in 2021, whereas during the year, 5,572 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, Suman Choudhury informed that out of the 2,755 active patients:

  • 288 of them are admitted at SMCH
  • 16 at MH
  • 46 at SMDCH
  • 43 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
  • 13 at CRPF Doyapur
  • 23 at Gracewell Nursing Home
  • 19 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
  • 29 at Valley Hospital
  • 17 at South City Hospital
  • 06 at Nightingale Hospital
  • 38 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
  • 2,217 patients are in home isolation.

Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours witnessed demise of 08 more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board as per the protocol. Out of the 08 deceased, 06 are from Cachar district, 01 from Karimganj & 01 from Hailakandi.

The deceased were identified as: Pratima Barman (38) from Dholai in Cachar, Lutfur Nahar (47) from Narayanpur in Hailakandi, Shimul Dey (55) from Karimganj, Gyan Ranjan Choudhury (79) from 2nd Link Road, Silchar, Kalabati Roy (57) from Dholai in Cachar district, Hem Bahadur Chetri (75) from Alambag in Cachar,  Kalyani Dey (75) from Tarapur and Robijul Ali Mazarbhuiya (70) from Bhagabazar in Cachar.
