With 64 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 180 on 14 May

Active cases 1,214 in Cachar

May 14: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Friday at 11 PM. As per the latest data, 64 more persons were detected as coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 180 persons were found positive in the district on 14 May. Earlier, at 6.00 PM, it was informed that 116 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 1,214. It needs mention here that the total number of positive cases detected on Thursday was 398.

As per the updated data, a total of 957 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, a total of 98 persons were found positive in Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), whereas 82 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Friday night. With this, the total number of Covid cases in 2021 reached 3,841 in 2021, whereas during the year, 2,601 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed informed that out of the 1,214 active patients:

  • 221 of them are admitted at SMCH
  • 08 in MH
  • 14 at SMDCH
  • 30 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
  • 36 at CRPF Doyapur
  • 24 at Gracewell Nursing Home
  • 14 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
  • 17 at Valley Hospital
  • 850 patients are in home isolation.

Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. Friday witnessed demise of 04 more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board as per the protocol. Out of the 04 deceased at SMCH on 14 May, 03 of them are from Cachar district, while 01 of them is from Karimganj district. The 04 deceased were identified as Gita Dhar (55) from Patharkandi in Karimganj, Ronendra Roy (51) from Dolu, Kalinagar in Cachar, Sikha Bhattacharjee (55) from Katigorah in Cachar and Monoranjan Das (55) from Kalain in Cachar.
