With 62 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 262 on 16 June, 5 deaths at SMCH

Active cases 2,192 in Cachar; 431 discharged on Tuesday

June 16: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Wednesday at 11.40 PM. As per the latest data, 62 more persons were detected as coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 262 persons were found positive in the district on 16 June. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 200 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 2,375. This was informed by DIPRO Cachar on Wednesday night. Also, 431 patients were discharged during the day. At present, there are 2,192 active cases in the district.  It needs mention here that on Tuesday, 259 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 4,760 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 191 persons were found positive, whereas 71 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test.  With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 15,801, whereas during this phase, 13,453 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 2,192 active patients:

  • 160 of them are admitted at SMCH
  • 07 at MH
  • 23 at SM Dev Civil Hospital
  • 21 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
  • 17 at CRPF Doyapur
  • 03 at Gracewell Nursing Home
  • 21 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
  • 18 at Valley Hospital
  • 11 at South City Hospital
  • 00 at Nightingale Hospital
  • 11 at Jivan Jyoti Hospital
  • 21 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
  • 02 Palonghat Model Hospital
  • 1,877 patients are in home isolation.

Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 15 June to 5 PM on 16 June) witnessed demise of 05 Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. Out of the 05 deceased on Wednesday, 03 of them are from Cachar, 01 from Karimganj district and the other is from Hailakandi.

The deceased were identified as Bindiya Rani Singha (58) from Kabuganj in Cachar, Amulya Suklabaidya (77) from Lakhinagar Part-II in Hailakandi district, Paresh Kanu (55) from Bidyanagar in Karimganj, Ganesh Chandra Das (90) from Banglaghat in Cachar and DB Gurung (70) from Kumbhirgram in Cachar.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 16 June, there were 148 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 90 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 58 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 20 patients were put under ventilator support and 109 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 23 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 30 of them were discharged. Further, 18 of them have opted for home isolation.
