With 40 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 98 on 20 June, 3 deaths registered
Active cases 1,734 in Cachar; 191 discharged on Sunday
June 20: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Sunday at 10 PM. As per the latest data, 40 more persons were detected as coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 98 persons were found positive in the district on 20 June. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 58 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 1,734. This was informed by DIPRO Cachar on Sunday night. Also, 191 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Saturday, 172 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.
The latest figures received on Sunday indicates a gradual decreasing trend of Covid-19 positive cases in the district. If the district is able to maintain this dip in number of cases, then probably, Cachar might be awarded more relaxations in the coming week.
It needs mention here that as the Covid-19 cases in atleast 5 to 6 districts of Assam are still not under control, there are chances that the state government might go for strict restrictions including complete lockdown for atleast 10 days. This was indicated by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma while interacting with the media. He further added that the district-wise Covid situation will be discussed and analysed on 23 June. A decision in this connection will be taken only after the review of the Covid situation in the districts.
As per the updated data, a total of 3,745 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 54 persons were found positive, whereas 44 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 16,477, whereas during this phase, 14,586 patients were discharged.
Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 1,734 active patients:
- 131 of them are admitted at SMCH
- 09 at MH
- 35 at SM Dev Civil Hospital
- 14 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
- 15 at CRPF Doyapur
- 00 at Gracewell Nursing Home
- 15 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
- 08 at Valley Hospital
- 00 at South City Hospital
- 11 at Chibitabichia Model Hospital
- 07 at Jivan Jyoti Hospital
- 23 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
- 05 Palonghat Model Hospital
- 1,461 patients are in home isolation.
Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 19 June to 5 PM on 20 June) witnessed demise of 03 Covid-19 positive patients at Green Heals Pvt Hospital and Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. Both of them.
The 02 deceased at SMCH were identified as Dhananjoy Das (70) from Daramkhal in Cachar district and Pradip Tanti (74) from Laboc Tea Estate in Cachar. Another person died during the day at Green heals Pvt Hospital, Silchar. The deceased was identified as Asit Baran Das (78) from Cachar district. he was admitted at Green Heals on 17 June. The man passed away on 20 June.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 20 June, there were 135 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 78 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 57 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 11 patients were put under ventilator support and 96 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 23 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 17 of them were discharged. Further, 02 of them have opted for admission at Covid Care Centre.
