With 26 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 73 on 8 July

Active cases 384 in Cachar; 88 discharged on Thursday

July 8: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Thursday at 10.30 PM. As per the latest data, 26 more persons were detected as coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 73 persons were found positive in the district on 8 July. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 47 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has come down to 384. This was informed by District Media Expert on Thursday night. Also, 88 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Wednesday, 69 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 2,307 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 39 persons were found positive, whereas 34 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 18,058, whereas during this phase, 17,503 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 384 active patients:

104 of them are admitted at SMCH
14 at MH
38 at SM Dev Civil Hospital
13 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
12 at CRPF Doyapur
00 at Gracewell Nursing Home
07 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
00 at Valley Hospital
00 at South City Hospital
07 at Chibitabichia Model Hospital
02 at Jivan Jyoti Hospital
27 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
18 Palonghat Model Hospital
143 patients are in home isolation.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 7 July to 5 PM on 8 July) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Thursday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 8 July, there were 103 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 46 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 57 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 12 patients were put under ventilator support and 68 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 09 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 08 of them were discharged.
