With 22 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 41 on 6 August, 2 deaths at SMCH

Active cases 221 in Cachar; 36 discharged on Friday

Aug 6: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Friday at late night. As per the latest data, 22 more persons were detected as Coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 41 persons were found positive in the district on 6 August. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 19 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has come down to 221. This was informed by District Media Expert on Friday night. Also, 36 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Thursday, 45 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 4,041 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 17 persons were found positive, whereas 24 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 19,247 whereas during this phase, 18,840 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 221 active patients:

08 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
04 at CRPF Doyapur
00 at Gracewell Nursing Home
01 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
00 at Valley Hospital
00 at South City Hospital
04 at Chibitabichia Model Hospital
00 at Jivan Jyoti Hospital
22 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
11 Palonghat Model Hospital
80 patients are in home isolation.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 5 August to 5 PM on 6 August) witnessed the death of 02 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Friday evening.

The deceased were identified as Sunahar Ali Laskar (60) from Madhurbond in Cachar district and Suma Roy (31) from Lala in Hailakandi district.

Dr. Bhaskar Gupta further informed that till 5 PM of 6 August, a total of 61 active coronavirus patients are admitted at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH), out of which, 25 of them are in Covid ward and 36 at ICU. Out of them 45 patients are in oxygen support and 04 are in ventilation. In last 24 hours, 09 new patients were admitted whereas, 10 of them were discharged at SMCH.
