With 22 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 39 on 4 August
Active cases 226 in Cachar; 36 discharged on Wednesday
Aug 4: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Wednesday at 10.45 PM. As per the latest data, 22 more persons were detected as Coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 39 persons were found positive in the district on 4 August. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 17 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has come down to 226. This was informed by District Media Expert on Wednesday night. Also, 23 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Tuesday, 37 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.
As per the updated data, a total of 4,837 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 22 persons were found positive, whereas 17 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 19,173 whereas during this phase, 18,762 patients were discharged.

82 patients are in home isolation.
The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 3 August to 5 PM on 4 August) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Wednesday evening.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 4 August, there were 59 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 25 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 24 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 08 patients were put under ventilator support and 46 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 16 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 14 of them were discharged.
