With 16 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 81 on 23 July, 1 death at SMCH
Active cases 273 in Cachar; 80 discharged on Friday
July 23: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Friday at late night. As per the latest data, 16 more persons were detected as Coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 81 persons were found positive in the district on 23 July. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 65 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has come down to 273. This was informed by District Media Expert on Friday night. Also, 80 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Thursday, 54 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.
Further, on Friday, 3,874 persons were vaccinated in Cachar district. As of now, a total of 4,54,560 persons were vaccinated in the district.
As per the updated data, a total of 5,074 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 65 persons were found positive, whereas 16 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 18,764 whereas during this phase, 18,314 patients were discharged.

84 patients are in home isolation.
The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 22 July to 5 PM on 23 July) witnessed the death of 01 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). The detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Friday evening. The deceased was identified as:
- Parimal Dey (83) from Bipin Paul Road in Karimganj district was admitted at SMCH on 20 July. The patient, however, passed away at 1.30 AM on 23 July.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 23 July, there were 61 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 35 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 26 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 07 patients were put under ventilator support and 48 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 07 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 13 of them were discharged.
