With 15 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 41 on 4 July, 2 deaths at SMCH
Active cases 524 in Cachar; 98 discharged on Sunday
July 4: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Sunday at 11.50 PM. As per the latest data, 15 more persons were detected as coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 41 persons were found positive in the district on 4 July. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 26 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has come down to 524. This was informed by District Media Expert on Sunday night. Also, 98 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Saturday, 73 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.
As per the updated data, a total of 2,472 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 19 persons were found positive, whereas 22 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 17,865, whereas during this phase, 17,172 patients were discharged.

00 at Gracewell Nursing Home
09 at Cachar Cancer Hospital

05 at Jivan Jyoti Hospital
28 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
09 Palonghat Model Hospital
287 patients are in home isolation.
Though the number of Covid-19 positive cases in Barak Valley along with the rest of Assam has considerably decreased, yet incidents of death of Covid positive patients are still reported from the three districts of Southern Assam. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 3 July to 5 PM on 4 July) witnessed demise of 02 Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. Out of the two deceased, one of them is from Cachar, while the other is from Hailakandi .
The deceased were identified as Madhusudhan Singha (80) from Vivekananda Road in Silchar and Kutan Rabidas (18) from Lala, Ward No.2 in Hailakandi district.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 4 July, there were 124 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 52 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 72 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 16 patients were put under ventilator support and 88 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 26 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 10 of them were discharged.
