With 14 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 45 on 5 August

Aug 5: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Thursday at 11.20 PM. As per the latest data, 14 more persons were detected as Coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 45 persons were found positive in the district on 5 August. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 31 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has come down to 219. This was informed by District Media Expert on Thursday night. Also, 42 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Wednesday, 39 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 6,986 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 30 persons were found positive, whereas 15 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 19,209 whereas during this phase, 18,804 patients were discharged.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 4 August to 5 PM on 5 August) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Thursday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 5 August, there were 58 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 35 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 23 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 06 patients were put under ventilator support and 44 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 11 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 10 of them were discharged.
