With 12 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 34 on 14 August

Aug 14: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Saturday at 10.45 PM. As per the latest data, 12 more persons were detected as Coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 34 persons were found positive in the district on 14 August. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 22 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 197. This was informed by District Media Expert on Saturday night. Also, 19 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Friday, 21 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

Further, during the day, 10,422 persons were administered Covid vaccine in Cachar. With this, a total of 5,79,985 persons in the district were vaccinated as of now.

As per the updated data, a total of 5,715 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 22 persons were found positive, whereas 12 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 19,460 whereas during this phase, 19,072 patients were discharged.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 13 August to 5 PM on 14 August) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Saturday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 14 August, there were 45 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 23 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 22 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 01 patients were put under ventilator support and 28 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 08 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 13 of them were discharged.
