Where will they escape, big or small, all will be nabbed, says DGP in Silchar on syndicate
Feb. 9: In a stern note, Director General of Police (DGP), Assam, Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta sought the support of the people of Barak Valley in uprooting syndicate raj prevailing over here. “Where will they escape; all will be nabbed, whether big or small, we will dig them out,” said the DGP while interacting with the media during his Silchar visit on Wednesday.
DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta came to Silchar on Wednesday and took part in a review meeting of the police department which was also attended by IG Devraj Upadhyay, Superintendent of Police, Cachar Ramandeep Kaur along with other officials of the district police department. Later on, while replying to a query of the media, DGP Mahanta appreciated the all out drive launched by Cachar Police against those involved in syndicate.
When asked about apprehending kingpins of the various syndicate networks prevailing in Barak Valley, Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta said, “These are parts of the investigation procedure which could not be revealed at this hour.” He, however, assured that Assam Police will continue its action against those involved in syndicate business. “I modestly request the people of Barak Valley to support this drive launched by the police. We are doing these works for the benefit of the people,” added the DGP.
