Wearing masks, social distancing & hand washing are key means to keep corona away: Dr. Ravi Kannan

May 27: People should ensure themselves that they always put on face masks, maintain social distancing and do hand washing regularly. There is a bigger need for stronger enforcement of safety guidelines by public themselves to ensure self vigilance in lieu of controlling further spread of coronavirus. This was stated by Padma Shri Dr. Ravi Kannan, renowned oncologist and Director of Cachar Cancer Hospital, Silchar. Dr. Kannan was invited as a Special Guest by the Cachar district administration in a meeting of District Level Coordination Committee held at the conference hall of the office of Deputy Commissioner,.Dr. Kannan shared his views about COVID-19 with respect to front line workers and precautions to be taken to be taken by them.

Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli along with Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajib Roy were also there in the District Level Coordination Committee meeting with all security agencies on Wednesday. In her speech, Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli requested all concerned to remain extremely cautious and maintain strict vigil so that no law and order problem arises in the present situation.

She also requested them to be alert in lieu of flood season that is fast approaching. ” I urge all of you to come together to fight this pandemic and forthcoming floods so that no civilian has to suffer unduly,” said DC Jalli. She requested to ensure maintenance of public peace and tranquility in the coming days. The meeting was also attended by SP Cachar, Manabendra Devray and representatives from SIB, CRPF, BSF, Assam Rifles, Army Intelligence and others.
