‘We are prioritising ladies & senior citizens in civil hospital’ : DC Cachar

July 22: We are prioritising senior citizens and ladies in SM Dev Civil Hospital, Silchar. The gents are admitted in the rest COVID care centres. Their pulse oxymeter is the indicator whether they are stable or not. This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli on Wednesday while addressing newsmen at her conference hall.

DC Jalli further stated that two kinds of tests are happening simultaneously, not because one is faulty or one is better or one is not satisfactory. She said nothing of the sort is there and no discretion is followed in this matter. She said, “First we do Rapid Test. If it shows positive we at once send those symptomatic to Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) and asymptomatic to Covid Care Centres.” She added that at that very moment, the RTPCR (swab sample) is collected. The result of RTPCR is usually given after 2 to 3 days. Technically and SOP wise, they are supposed to be in home isolation till the result comes negative or positive.
