Water level of major rivers of Barak Valley at a glance

May 23: Due to incessant rainfall since the last few days, the water level of river Barak started to rise. However,  on Monday, the water level at Annapurna Ghat was gradually decreasing. From 7 AM on Monday, the water level of Barak came down below the danger level.

As per report received from Assam Water Resource Department, river Barak at Annapurna Ghat, Silchar at 9 PM on Monday, was flowing much below the danger level and was recorded at 19.52 metres. The danger level at this point is 19.49 metre. The water level is decreasing at 3 cm per hour at this hour. The highest flood level at this point was recorded at 21.763 on 11 September, 2007.

• Again, the water level of Barak at Lakhipur on 23 May (at 6 PM) was 22.46 metres as against the danger level of 23.88 metres. The water level is decreasing slowly.
• The water level of River Rukni at Dholai on 23 May (at 6 PM) was 22.64 metres as against the danger level of 24.58 metres. The water level is decreasing slowly
• The water level of River Sonai at Amraghat on 23 May (at 6 PM) was 21.17 metres as against the danger level of 26.96 metres. The water level is decreasing
• The water level of River Dholeswari at Gharmura on 23 May (at 6 PM) was 23.88 metres as against the danger level of 28.05 metres. The water level here is static.
• The water level of River Katakhal at Matijuri on 23 May (at 6 PM) was 18.67 metres as against the danger level of 20.27 metres. The water level is decreasing slowly.
• The water level of River Kushiyara at Karimganj on 23 May (at 6 PM) was 15.64 metres as against the danger level of 14.94 metres. The water level is decreasing slowly
