Water level of Barak at Annapurna Ghat steady at 20.98 mt at midnight on Tuesday

May 17: Though due to incessant rainfall since the last few days, the water level of river Barak started to increase, however, since Monday night, there were some relief as River Barak at Annapurna Ghat, Silchar started to show a steady trend. However, from 6 PM on Tuesday, the water level at Annapurna Ghat was reported to steady. The water level there came down by 1 cm at 11 PM, whereas, at midnight, it was reported to be steady.

As per report received from Assam Water Resource Department, river Barak at Annapurna Ghat, Silchar at midnight on Tuesday was flowing much above the danger level and was recorded at 20.98 metre. The danger level at this point is 19.83 metre. The water level was steady at this hour. This is the highest level of water (20.98 mt) at Annapurna Ghat recorded this year.
