Water level of Barak at Annapurna Ghat decreasing, flowing at 19.64 mt at Midnight on Friday

The water level is decreasing at 2 cm per hour

July 1: Due to incessant rainfall since the last few days, the water level of river Barak crossed the danger level on 18 June. However, after 13 days, at 3 PM on 1 July, the water level came down below danger level. From 1 AM on Friday, the water level of Barak came down from 19.85 mt to 19.64 mt.

As per report received from Assam Water Resource Department, river Barak at Annapurna Ghat, Silchar at Midnight on Friday, was flowing below the danger level and was recorded at 19.64 metres. The danger level at this point is 19.83 metre. The water level is decreasing at 2 cm per hour.

The highest flood level at this point was recorded at 21.763 on 11 September, 2007.
