১৭ ডিসেম্বরঃ লক্ষ্মীপুর মহকুমার শ্রীবারে ভোটকেন্দ্রে গিয়ে ব্যালট বক্সে জল ঢেলে দেওয়ার অভিযোগ নিয়ে তদন্তে নেমেছে পুলিশ। কাছাড়ের পুলিশ সুপার রাকেশ রৌশন জানান, লিখিত এজাহারের ভিত্তিতে পুলিশ মামলাটি নথিভুক্ত করেছে। পরবর্তী কার্যক্রমও তাঁরা শুরু করে দিয়েছেন। তদন্তকারী অফিসারের রিপোর্টের ভিত্তিতে শীঘ্র প্রয়োজনীয় ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করা হবে। এই মামলায় মুখ্য অভিযুক্ত করা হয়েছে বিজেপি নেত্রী রীনা সিংহকে। তদন্তে দোষী প্রমাণিত হলে কেউ রেহাই পাবেন না বলে পুলিশ সুপার আজ সাংবাদিকদের জানান।

একই সাংবাদিক সম্মেলনে জেলাশাসক ডা. এস লক্ষ্মণন জানান, নির্বাচন প্রক্রিয়া বিঘ্নিত করার বেশ কটি অভিযোগ জমা পড়েছে। সবগুলি খতিয়ে দেখা হচ্ছে। যেগুলি বিচারের জন্য গ্রহণযোগ্য মনে হবে, সেগুলি গ্রহণ করে অভিযুক্তদের বিরুদ্ধে ফৌজদারি আইনে মামলা দায়ের করা হবে। তিনিও কড়া সুরে বলেন, দোষীদের মোটেও রেহাই দেওয়া হবে না।

December 17: Police has started investigation into the allegation of poring water inside ballot box at Sribar polling booth in Lakhipur constituency. Police Super of Cachar Rakesh Roushan has informed that police has started investigation after receiving a written allegation in this regard. Appropriate action would be taken on the basis of the report of the investigating officer of the case. The prime accused in this case is BJP leader Rina Singh. While speaking to newsmen, Police Super Rakesh Roushan told that if found guilty in the investigation, none will be spared.

In the same press meet, Deputy Commissioner Dr. S. Lakshmanan informed that a number of allegations were recorded regarding creation of ruckus during the recently concluded panchayat polls. All these allegations are being looked into by the officials.He asserted that appropriate action will be taken against those, if the allegations are found to be true. He boldly said that criminal cases will be found against the guilty.
