Warehouse for storing EVM & VVPAT inaugurated in Hailakandi

February 27: EVMs and VVPATs are now part and parcel of electoral democracy in India. Usually such devices need to be stored in various districts of a state. However, to store such devices in bulk, proper warehouse is required. Keeping this aspect in mind, a state of the art warehouse was built in Hailakandi at an expense of Rs. 218.13 lakh. The executing agency which built the warehouse is PWD, Building Division, Silchar.

On Thursday, the new warehouse for storing the EVMs and VVPATs was inaugurated by Keerthi Jalli, Deputy Commissioner of Hailakandi in presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner R.Dam, other district and police officials.
