Ward wise vaccination drive begins in Silchar, DC Cachar visit the centres

June 4: In view of Covid-19 pandemic and to contain the further spread of the virus, a vaccination drive in Silchar urban area has been undertaken. Keeping this in mind, one vaccination centre has been set up in every ward of Silchar Municipal area where online registration will not be required. In those 28 centres, Covishield will be administered during this special ward-wise drive.

The week-long vaccination drive began on 4 June, 2021 and will continue till 10 of June. The vaccination drive will begin at 7 AM daily and continue till 2 PM. Keerthi Jalli, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar visited the different vaccination centres early in the morning on the 1st day of this special drive. Earlier, DC Jalli informed that the vaccines will be administered on a 1st cum 1st serve basis, subject to the availability of the vaccines. Spot offline registration facilities will be available at these vaccination sites. The Deputy Commissioner urged upon all to avail this benefit obeying Covid protocol.

On Friday morning, amid torrential shower, DC Jalli was in the vaccination centre at Public HS School Silchar along with ADC Rajbongshi. She also offered floral tribute at the portrait of Santanu Das, Assistant Teacher of the school who died due to Covid-19 on Thursday.
